About Us

Who we are

Community Care and Development Initiative (CCDI) is a community-driven, non-profit development organisation committed to advancing the health, well-being, dignity, resilience and self-reliance of vulnerable individuals and communities.

CCDI adopts a participatory and evidence-informed approach, working closely with communities, government institutions, civil society organisations, development partners and other relevant stakeholders to identify needs, strengthen local capacities and develop sustainable solutions.

We deliver our interventions through community engagement, health promotion, education, advocacy, research, capacity building, social support, partnerships and sustainable development initiatives — ensuring that vulnerable and underserved populations have access to opportunities, essential services and the resources needed to improve their quality of life.

  • Community-ledCommunities define the problems and co-design the solutions.
  • Evidence-informedResearch and data guide every programme decision we take.
  • Inclusive by designWomen, children, persons with disability and the underserved come first.
  • AccountableTransparent reporting to communities, partners and donors alike.

Our Vision

To build healthy, empowered, resilient and self-reliant communities where every individual can live with dignity, access opportunities and realise their full potential.

Our Mission

To improve the health, well-being and quality of life of vulnerable individuals and communities through inclusive access to healthcare, education, empowerment, advocacy, social protection, research and sustainable development initiatives.

Our Programs

What we do

Eight connected areas of work, delivered with communities rather than for them.

Health Promotion & Primary Care

Community health outreaches, maternal and child health, immunisation support, nutrition and health education that reach people where they live.

Education & Learning Support

School support, learning materials, scholarships and literacy programmes that keep vulnerable children and youth in education.

Community Engagement

Participatory needs assessment, community dialogue and mobilisation so that programmes are owned locally from day one.

Advocacy & Policy Engagement

Amplifying community voices with government and stakeholders to influence policy, budgets and service delivery for the underserved.

Research & Evidence

Operational research, surveys and programme evaluation that generate the evidence behind our decisions and our partners'.

Capacity Building

Training for health workers, community volunteers, women's groups and local organisations — building skills that stay in the community.

Social Protection & Support

Relief items, food support, psychosocial care and referral for orphans, widows, displaced persons and households in crisis.

Sustainable Livelihoods

Skills acquisition, small-enterprise support, WASH and environment initiatives that move households towards self-reliance.
